New method of probing an oscillating EDM induced by axionlike dark matter using an rf Wien filter in storage rings

A hypothetical pseudoscalar particle axion, which is an immediate result of the Peccei-Quinn solution to strong $CP$ problem, may couple gluons and lead oscillating electric dipole moment (EDM) fundamental particles. This paper proposes a novel method probing axion-induced EDM in storage rings, using radio frequency (rf) Wien filter. The filter at sidebands axion $g\ensuremath{-}2$ frequency, ${f}_{\text{axion}}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}{f}_{g\ensuremath{-}2}$, generates spin resonance presence EDM, as confirmed both by analytical estimation equations independently simulation. brief systematic study also shows that this unlikely be limited misalignment issues.
